BuildFund (“BuildFund”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a construction procurement platform that connects homeowners, contractors, and building material traders through our Android app and this website (https://buildfundindia.com). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use, store, and protect it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

By registering for or using BuildFund, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account & contact information — name, phone number, email address, and business or site address, collected when you register as a Contractor or Trader.
  • Identity & business verification documents — Aadhaar, PAN, and GST certificate details submitted for KYC verification. These fields are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before being stored and are decrypted only for authorized review during registration approval.
  • Location data — pincode and, where you grant permission, device location, used to help Contractors discover nearby Traders.
  • Transaction & order data — orders placed and materials listed on the platform.
  • Documents — KYC documents you upload, stored as PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG files.
  • Device & usage data — device type, app version, and general activity (e.g. screens viewed, searches performed) used for support and platform improvement. This never includes Aadhaar, PAN, phone numbers, or other sensitive fields.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and verify your Contractor, Trader, or Admin account.
  • To process KYC verification and material orders.
  • To connect Contractors with nearby Traders and facilitate order fulfillment.
  • To send push and in-app notifications about orders, approvals, and account status.
  • To detect fraud, verify documents, and maintain the security of the platform.
  • To respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Store & Protect Your Information

  • Sensitive fields — Aadhaar, PAN, and GST details — are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and are never stored in plaintext, including in development or staging environments.
  • All data in transit is protected using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Uploaded documents are stored in private cloud storage (Amazon S3) with no public access. Every document is accessed only through short-lived, signed URLs.
  • Access to your data is restricted by role (Contractor, Trader, Admin) and authenticated via JWT-based sessions.
  • Sensitive actions — approvals, rejections, and document uploads — are recorded in immutable audit logs for security and compliance purposes.
  • We never store PII in application logs or analytics.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With Traders or Contractors — as necessary to fulfill an order (e.g. contact and delivery details shared between the ordering Contractor and the fulfilling Trader).
  • With our service providers — Amazon Web Services (secure file storage), Firebase/Google (push notifications and phone number verification), and Google Maps (location-based Trader discovery) — solely to operate the platform, under confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons — where required by law, regulation, court order, or a valid request from a government authority.
  • In a business transaction — such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality commitments consistent with this policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal, accounting, and audit requirements. BuildFund does not perform hard deletes on user records — instead, accounts and related records are deactivated and excluded from active use. When you request account deletion, we process it in accordance with our Data Deletion Policy, while retaining minimal records (such as audit logs) where required by law.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access & correction — you can review and edit your KYC details before submission, and request corrections afterward by contacting support.
  • Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time; see our Data Deletion Policy for the process.
  • Location permission — you can withdraw location access at any time from your device settings; you can still browse Traders using your pincode instead.
  • Notifications — you can manage push notification permissions from your device settings.

8. Children’s Privacy

BuildFund is intended for use by individuals 18 years of age or older who are registering as a Contractor, Trader, or Admin. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

This website uses only essential cookies or local storage required for basic functionality — we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Our Android app does not use cookies; authentication tokens are stored securely on your device and are never persisted in unencrypted storage.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate, communicated through an in-app or push notification.
